How to Be You Fabulously

Everyday my blog is growing and everyday I realize that I have a wonderful platform here to connect with people worldwide.  One thing I want to use this platform for is to help young women realize that sitting pretty is doable.

I've decided to do that through inspiration and useful and applicable tips.  If you want to build a life that will allow you to live comfortably, even abundantly, it is possible. I see success as inevitable for myself and I want to help others see it in a similar, if not identical, light.

The first step to being successful at anything in life is to be yourself and to do it fabulously!  How do you do that you ask? Well, it's not necessarily easy, but it is doable. Let's get down to it.

How to Be You Fabulously

1. Explore what you like.

I've come in contact with lots of people from all walks of life  and there is one thing that remains the same across the board.  That one thing is that many people don't know who they are simply because they don't know what they like.  If you feel like you're at a point in life where you just don't know who you are, then the best thing you can do, right now in this moment, is to find out what it is you like.  Take some time to figure out your opinion on things like politics and religion.  Learn what your favorite foods are.  Find out your personal style and things you love in fashion. Think of what you are grateful for in life.  These are all things that will get you on the road to knowing yourself and being yourself!

2. Keep a running list of your positive qualities.

A major part of being yourself is loving yourself!  Everyday when you wake up you should tell yourself how much you love yourself.  Today, create a list of all of the things you love about yourself.  A list of positive things about you.  Start with what you love, then write down the things others tell you the love about you.  Keep this list close at all times and add to it daily! Read over this list everyday as a reminder of how truly amazing you are!

3. List your weaknesses and how you can turn them into strengths.

We all have weaknesses and it's important not to focus on them, but also not to ignore them.  Who said a weakness couldn't be transformed into a strength?  It's good to know what your weaknesses are instead of running from them.  This is because when we face our weaknesses we have time to over come them and make them new strengths!  Every 21 days (it takes 21 days to form a habit) pick a weakness and work hard at conquering it.  If after 21 days you're still not comfortable with it, then work on it for another 21 days or until you have conquered it and then move on to a new weakness.

4. Don't compare yourself to others.

In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Today you are you, that is truer than true, there's no one alive that is youer than you!"  You are the only one in this world like you.  Celebrate that!  Don't waste your time comparing yourself to others, because while you're comparing everyone else will be succeeding and you'll be left behind.  Focus on yourself and what you love.  No one can do what you can the way that you can!  Remember that and stay focused on you, your dream, and your end goal!

5. Turn what you love into a career.

We often feel empowered when we are doing something we love and are passionate about.  This is the time that we are truly our most fabulous selves!  So why not be you fabulously everyday?  Find out what you love and are passionate about (hint, you think and dream about it all the time).  Now take some time to figure out a way to make it work for you.  Life is too short not to enjoy it and do what we love.  Plus, you'll never truly have to work if you're living your passion.

I hope you find these tips helpful!  Before you go I'd like to dedicate this song to all of my fabulous readers!  Remember, you're more than enough and half past amazing! You're beautiful!

What do you do to be you fabulously on a daily basis?

  1. What a great post! All of your points are spot on especially number five. Ever since I went from doing what I liked(teaching) and doing what I love (writing) I truly don't feel like I'm working. It's so easy to focus on what others are doing, but once we reign ourselves in and become uniquely us, we can create something amazing! Thanks for this. : )
