How To Be Glamorous Part I

Happy Monday! One of the things I hope to do through this blog is to add a touch of glam to your lives daily.  So, as I was being inspired this weekend it hit me that I've never shared with you all how to be glamorous!  There's nothing I want to share with you more!  Like I always say, I want you to have the life YOU choose and I want you to be glamorous every step of the way! There are certain things that you can do to make sure that everything about you screams glam, without you even trying.  Now let's get to it. Here's what to do...

How To Be Glamorous

❤ Add a touch of luxury.

Lets face it, those who are glamorous seem to have luxury at their finger tips.  There is no reason you can't too. If you want to be Glamourous, then luxury is something you should be adding to your life. We all deserve luxury, but the difference between a glam girl and everyone else is that she knows this and she purposely indulges in luxurious things.

Find something luxurious you love and do it once a day or at least once a week. It could be something as simple as taking a candle lit bath, or going to a resort for the weekend and having an extensive spa treatment! No matter how big or small, luxury is accessble. By constantly experiencing luxury you will in turn exude it.

❤ Be ready to not settle.

If you're going to be glamourous you're going to have stop settling! This starts with knowing your worth and how to stand up for yourself. Knowing your worth starts with believing that you deserve the best.  When you truly believe you deserve the best then you will start to expect it which could mean standing up for yourself when you deserve the best.

To practice standing up for yourself start with small things like being brave enough to correct someone if they spell or say your name wrong.  Even though this may not seem like standing up for yourself, letting something as tiny as this go over time conditions you to be less likely to speak up for yourself. Small things like this teach you two things: how to realize when to step up and stand up for yourself and how to politely and charmingly correct someone.

❤ Know your signature style.

We all have our own personal style.  That one thing about us that only we can make work when it comes to fashion.  Knowing your signature style takes research.  It means knowing your body type and what works for you.  It means making smart yet stylish purchases.  It means knowing when to splurge and when to save. It also means knowing how to make every piece of clothing in your closet work. Whether you are known for accessories, wearing color, or  fabulous shoes be sure to play that up in a unique way with each outfit.

❤ Keep them guessing.

Ever heard the phrase "Never kiss and tell?" Or the more modern version "I never mention everything I dabble in (-Nicki Minaj)?" No? Well now is the time to not only get familiar with, but live by these words. A glamorous girl never tells all of her secrets. If she did, then there'd be nothing to keep them guessing about and there is nothing glamourous about that.

No one deserves to know everything about you because not everyone will wish you a positive outcome. No one needs to know your every move. Everything you do should be exclusive. How do you think Beyonce got so far?

❤ Get Organized.

The phrase cleanliness is next to godliness is a very true statement.  When you are in a clean and organized environment, life is easier. Being organized is the quickest way to simplify your life.  Being organized allows you to purposely place things where you want them. It allows you to create a space that you are passionate about and a space that you can be inspired in.

Take advantage of that.  All it takes to get organized is a little planning. If you're not quite ready to start organizing your physical space, then start with your mental space.  Plan your day the night before, plan your meals, even plan your down time.  When you do this, you'll be surprised at how much time you save and how much less stressed you'll feel. You have to be a planner so that you can take advantage of every moment. A girl that is prepared and living in the moment is the glamourous prototype!

I hope you're feeling more glam already!  Be sure to come back next Monday for part 2 of How To Be Glamorous.

  2. Ahhh love this! How to be glamorous 101. Hehe. Everything you've mentioned is so true, especially the not settling part. I think that's where most people fall short. They want to look, act, and exhale like a glam girl, but they settle for the mediocre girl. This is truly share worthy! I need to email you back. I def will today!! : )

  8. absolutely lovely list! I think all women should embrace femininity and know that she deserves to live a fabulous life. I learned a lot of these things when I started my Mary Kay business, because it's a company that strives to empower women on all levels. Beauty is skin deep and life should be just as beautiful as you are!

    Great post!
