A Working Girl's Guide to Rest & Relaxation

A guide to rest and relaxation is something every fashionista, blogger, and everyday working girl needs in her life! Us working girls can get so caught up in all that we have to do we tend to forget to take some time for ourselves. We seem to remember to schedule everything but time to rejuvenate the very minds and bodies that keep us going throughout the week. Here's a simple guide that will have you relaxed and rested in no time.

Step 1: Schedule a Break

If you can schedule a date or a meeting, then you can surely schedule some "down time."  You are important so make yourself a priority by clearing your schedule 1 or 2 days out of the month to do what you want to do! Some alternatives to taking a whole day out of the month include: taking 4 half days, taking an hour out of each day, or any other fun combination of time you can come up with.

Step 2: Leave the Work Behind

The point of taking a break is to step away from all of the rules, stress, and work. Leave all of that behind when you have your "me time." Lock the work in your desk or give it to a friend for safe keeping if you have to. Also, keep in mind not to take on any extra projects that could get in the way of your down time.

Step 3: Unplug

Unplugging from the world is the hardest things to do these days, which is why it's the most necessary. Don't trick yourself into thinking your resting and relaxing if you are constantly glued to your phone, checking your email every two seconds, and tuned into the latest and greatest via your twitter. Turn your phone off if you can, or only take emergency calls. Turn off your computer, and  turn off the tv if you have to.

Step 4: De-Stress Your Body

Getting a chance to show your body some TLC has to be one of the best parts of "me time."  You know your body so do what it loves. Some fun ways to relax your body include: getting a massage, taking a run, taking a bubble bath, and going for a swim.

Step 5: De-Stress Your Mind

The most important part of this all is giving your mind a break. Often we take care of ourselves physically, but neglect ourselves mentally. Some simple ways to take clear your mind include: praying, meditating, reading, and journaling.
