At last, I'm back with some blog tips! I took a little break, but there are several questions that I have been getting. I'll be posting more blog tips in an attempt to address all of those questions and to help out my fellow bloggers. Here is the question I am addressing today: What do I do if I want to become a professional blogger, but my family does not support me blogging? Unfortunately, we've all experienced negativity in the blog world. It may have come from other bloggers, onlookers, or friends, but the worst type of negativity often comes from family. Here are three tips to help you keep blogging your best through negativity if you are experiencing a lack of support from your family.
1. Give your family a chance
Many times we think our family does not support us, when the reality is we are too afraid to tell them and give them a chance. Don't assume your family won't love what you do and believe in you. Be brave enough to share with them your desire to be a blogger. Don't just tell them how bad you want you be a professional blogger. Put you action where your mouth is.
2. Show them don't tell them.
Show your family you mean business whether they support you or not. Set goals and accomplish those goals. Show them that you have the dedication and work ethic it takes to commit to being a blogger. Actions always speak louder than words. You can't tell your family you want to be a professional blogger and expect them to support you, then spend all day watching television and gossiping on the phone. You have to show your family that you are willing to sacrifice to achieve your dreams. You have to show them that you believe in yourself.
3. Do it in spite of.
At the end of the day, everyone will not like and support your choices even if they are successful ones. You have to come to peace with that. You have to remember that this is your life and your one chance to live the life you dream of. No one can live your life for you. Do what you love. If blogging is what you love, then do it in spite of what anyone else feels!
